I am a community ecologist focused on global change in coastal and marine ecosystems. I explore the influences of foundation species - oysters, seagrass, mangroves, and marshes - on community formation and species interactions. I use ecological perturbations as natural experiments in order to determine what happens to the game when you change the players. I'm intrigued by how ecological shifts alter evolutionary trajectories, and I'm particularly interested in organisms that undergo resource shifts during complex ontogeny.
